Hot on the heels of my recent trip to the 100% Design event in London, I headed back down south to visit Decorex, Europe’s leading exhibition event for interior design professionals, to soak up some more design inspo and take a peek into the future of interiors.
This year the London Design Festival celebrates 25 years, so I knew it would be an inspiring trip. As well as showcasing some of the world’s leading interior brands, the festival also celebrates hot new talent from designers and makers.
The yearly pilgrimage from Manchester to the Living Etc House Tours in London was as much joy this year as any of the other three of these events I have graced. This year in the Peckham and Camberwell areas, six more home owners welcomed us into their beautiful, inspirational homes, full of personality and we came away brimming with a head full of ideas and excitement.

I recently won my first ever prize! As a KLC Open Learning Student I get the opportunity to enter some interesting competitions, so when I got the email from the team that they were running a blog competition I had my eye on the prize.
Visiting shows and exhibitions isn’t something I do just for work, I like to attend as many as I can for myself, in my own time. I love observing what’s old, new and what’s looking good.
When designing a space, my starting point is often a rug or a piece of art. They act as the anchor in the room, holding everything in place and when I see a fabulous rug that inspires me I like to take colours and inspiration from it to build the room around it.

Millennial Pink is the gift that keeps on giving! I’m seeing the trend still going strong in some really cool products and I love it. I don’t at all think it’s odd to have a pink room in the house, and anyway this board was put together more around the totally incredible Carnival Pale rug by Paul Smith for Rug Company.

The 1960's is a decade I would have loved to have experienced, not just for the style and furniture but also the music scene, fashion and culture. The furniture profiles were slick and cool and didn’t try to hard and I absolutely love this vibe.
