All in Interior Styling
I’m sure, like me, being indoors for the past 4 weeks has got you dreaming about sunshine and escapism, am I right? As we all know, staying home and staying safe is of paramount importance right now and it’s got me thinking yet again of importance of our homes.
When I lived in this 2 bedroom terraced house in Sale (Manchester) from 2008 to 2013, I was a first time owner, so the excitement around the prospect of decorating was at its absolute peak, as you can imagine.
Comfortable and cosy for family nights in, as well as chic and cool for entertaining and cocktail making - this was the brief for the living room of the charming cottage in Knutsford, Cheshire.
It’s one of the most anticipated and exciting times of the year for me; the unveiling of the Pantone colour that will inspire product and design trends for the coming year.
Deck the halls with pink Christmas trees, neon wrapping and disco balls – this year I’m feeling a 90’s Christmas knees-up and it’s time to get the party started!
Manchester’s home interior stores are sadly not what they once were. It still pains me to think of Heals and Habitat. Once inspiring interior leaders, the stores closed in 2010 and 2011 respectively when Heals was said to be under performing and Habitat went into administration.
You can imagine my absolute delight when I learned that the Living Etc House Tours were taking place for a second time this year. The October tour was located in the area of Highbury & Islington, where we were welcomed into six more fantastic homes full of charm and character.
Hot on the heels of my recent trip to the 100% Design event in London, I headed back down south to visit Decorex, Europe’s leading exhibition event for interior design professionals, to soak up some more design inspo and take a peek into the future of interiors.
This year the London Design Festival celebrates 25 years, so I knew it would be an inspiring trip. As well as showcasing some of the world’s leading interior brands, the festival also celebrates hot new talent from designers and makers.
The yearly pilgrimage from Manchester to the Living Etc House Tours in London was as much joy this year as any of the other three of these events I have graced. This year in the Peckham and Camberwell areas, six more home owners welcomed us into their beautiful, inspirational homes, full of personality and we came away brimming with a head full of ideas and excitement.

I want to share my experiences with you from my recent trip to Valencia. We missed out on going abroad last year due to relocating, so desperation had been building for 2 years and then the excitement had been mounting since January when we booked it.
Also referred to as vision boards, inspiration boards and concept boards, moodboards can be used in any sector, including fashion, interior design, beauty, food, really any area where you need to communicate a message through images.
The Living Etc House Tours never cease to amaze me. This is the third time I’ve hot footed to London for the day to have a nosey around 6 fabulous houses that have been featured in the magazine.
Millennial Pink is the gift that keeps on giving! I’m seeing the trend still going strong in some really cool products and I love it. I don’t at all think it’s odd to have a pink room in the house, and anyway this board was put together more around the totally incredible Carnival Pale rug by Paul Smith for Rug Company.
