All in Positivity
I came across Eleanor Bowmer’s work last year when researching independent, local businesses for my Indie Christmas Gift Guide. I quickly found myself in a rabbit hole of manic ordering when I discovered her retro inspired Christmas designs - Christmas stockings, Santa sacks, cards and wrap (and that was just for me) were fast being added to cart.
Growing up, many young girls fantasise about their perfect fairytale wedding day; the dress, the cake, the venue… but my dream was always to own my own home, actually, it was to own a Victorian home with beautiful period features.
As well as the usual ‘physical’ side of trends, in my opinion, 2020-2021, more than previous years have given rise to what I’m calling ‘emotional’ trends. These are what I believe to be the common sentiments and attitudes of the public, in terms of how we’re approaching general life, working life and home life as a result of Covid-19.
You might be wondering how this article relates to interior design, styling or colour, but if you read this account about my dad Paul La Gambina, you’ll understand how and why I am the person I am today. It’s something that I’ really want to share.
The fact that we’re still partly in lockdown and unable to travel at the moment has got a lot of us thinking about places we’ve been, and places we long to visit. I’ve been thinking about the word ‘wanderlust’, isn’t it pretty? Meaning; a strong desire to travel, and I think a lot of us feeling that desire quite strongly right now.
I’m sure, like me, being indoors for the past 4 weeks has got you dreaming about sunshine and escapism, am I right? As we all know, staying home and staying safe is of paramount importance right now and it’s got me thinking yet again of importance of our homes.
