A TRIP TO SALTS MILL, SALTAIRE

A TRIP TO SALTS MILL, SALTAIRE

The second time that I've been here and I loved it even more than the first time, I would never get bored I would never get bored of visiting Salts Mill. Such an enormous amazing building in a stunning setting with so much to see and learn inside. It makes me feel like a kid again feeling overwhelmed by all the colours and choice of art materials and vast amount of beautiful books and gifts. (I could have spent a fortune!) I love how it's so warm and cosy inside and almost smells like you're in a church, perfect temperature to browse in wonder at the David Hockney art on display throughout the building.

One of my favourite areas is of course the interiors section with the array of home wears and furniture including Marimekko, Bitossi and Portmeirion to name but a few, and so many classic chairs- the red Barcelona chair just does something to my heart.

Salts Diner never disappoints with the huge homemade pizzas and divine puddings, we sat, ate and drank tea whilst contemplating what else we could buy.

The antique section is quite small considering the building is so huge,

but does not disappoint as it is crammed full of absolute delights to look at, including ceramics, retro furniture and vintage jewellery.

We ended the trip on a walk around the grounds on a lovely autumn day and what a perfect end, to

see a rainbow appear over the mill.

Will definitely be returning in the spring to see it in a different light.
