A TRIP TO CHATSWORTH HOUSE

A TRIP TO CHATSWORTH HOUSE

I do enjoy a good sunny English day trip revelling in culture and tradition, with an ice cream for good measure - the family day trip to Chatsworth House was nothing short of quintessential.

I was mainly looking forward to viewing each of the decadent rooms, ready to be inspired by luxurious furnishings and lavish set ups. I loved the rich colours, hand painted wallpapers, plush fabrics (lots of velvet) and opulent ceilings. The feeling was very much 'more is more'.

My niece and nephew particularly enjoyed the vast gardens, the maze and the weird and wonderful rabbit sculptures found in unexpected places.

The Great Dining Room and the Entrance Hallway were two of my favourite rooms as they are just so magnificent with a masterpiece everywhere you turn. The black and white checkerboard floor of the hallway on such a huge scale makes my heart sing.
