LOUNGE MOODBOARD INSPIRED BY LONDON SHOWS

This image I took at the Bert Frank stand at Decorex 2017 is my favourite image from both of the shows that I attended this year. I LOVE this shade of pink, and the fact that it’s velvet makes it look even more rich, cosy and inviting. The image just screams style to me, it has that super cool midcentury vibe going on, with the slick furniture profiles and elegant lighting. It makes me imagine just chilling on the sofa with a magazine and a cocktail…watching Madmen.

So I’ve used this as inspiration for an idea for a living room, which is probably actually my dream living. I think this fabulous Munich sofa from Swoon Editions in Blush velvet is a really good colour match to the Bert Frank.

The various shades of the acacia wood on the Herning sideboard from Swoon with brass inlay is the perfect tone to sit with the pink velvet.

The Tom Raffield’s No 1 Giant Pendant light and the At The End Of The Day rug from Knots Rugs are fabulous statement pieces that I loved seeing in the flesh at the shows. I love interesting crafted items which is why they also make the cut in the living room. The rug introduces some exciting pattern and colour, and I love how this green looks against the pink sofa.

The metallics in the side tables, coffee table and lamp give the look a really glam cocktail hour feel, which is totally what I’m going for. These pair perfectly with the deep navy tassel cushion and the Susi Bellamy pink marble cushion.

I imagine all of this furniture grounded on a rich dark wood herringbone floor which gives another dimension of interest and will make the room look grand as well as cool and stylish. As I’m still very into dark and cosy interiors, the walls will be in a very deep blue/green called Bowery Blue by Abigail Ahern.
