THE INDEPENDANT INTERIORS SHOW - MANCHESTER
Saturday 28th September 2013 turned out to be a surprisingly warm and sunny day in Manchester, which made the outing at the The Independent Interiors Show even better. Really cool venue too at 2022 on Dale Street in the NQ, despite being underground and sheltered from the sun! I thought it was a really fitting space for the event, cosy and inspiring, and a little bit dark which I liked (helped by the presence of a bar.) There was loads of interesting stuff to see (and buy) and it was really nice to get chatting to the actual designers. I found Helaina Sharpley's space to be unique and found her intricate wirework to be really special. What patience! A neon heart and feather lampshade from Scandinord are definitely on the wish list, as is a colourful mosaic piece from Amanda McCrann - need to get my thinking cap on for some 'good words'. My living room has been brightened by my purchase of tea coasters from Jorja Wilkinson Design, could have gone wild at her store! All in all a fab event, I will definitely be attending the next one.
