3 DAYS IN NYC

3 DAYS IN NYC

A few months ago I got a call from one of my best friends saying she had some good news. Her boyfriend had offered to treat the three of us (us two, and our other best friend) to flights to New York for our 30th birthdays! We are all 10 days apart. I was so overwhelmed by the news that it felt like I was having some kind of attack! We couldn't believe it.

The trip came round very quickly and before we knew it we were on an 8 hour flight from Manchester to JFK. The three days we spend there felt weird,

a bit of a blur. It was like being on another planet. The buildings are so tall and there were yellow cabs and smoke everywhere, it was just like the films.

Looking back over my photos, the things we'd seen and done have started to sink in. I'm having a major jet lag day so I wanted to post this while still off work and while its still fresh in my mind. The W Hotel on Lexington was our home for 3 nights, and close to all the big shops we wanted to visit, Saks, Bloomingdales, Macy's, Tiffany, Park Ave, 5th Ave, so much! The weather was varied which was great, Saturday was bright, sunny, fresh and freezing! Sunday was snow blizzards and white skies, such a contrast to the day before. Walking through the streets of Manhattan and Brooklyn in this was an experience in itself! We ate burgers, pizza, pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and drank lots of coffee. We clubbed it in Brooklyn and after-partied in Williamsburg and the people that we met were great and loved our accents.

The buildings were huge, the Chrysler, Empire State, American Radiator Building, Grand Central Station and Trump Tower were highlights for me. Here are just a few of my favourite moments from NYC.
