DAMN COOL STUFF - FOR YOUR HOME INTERIOR

DAMN COOL STUFF - FOR YOUR HOME INTERIOR

Part of my job as an interior stylist is to continually research what’s new in the world of home interiors. It’s really important that I keep up to date with what’s going on out there to make sure I’m fully informed, and aware of as many products that can fit into my human (brain) and digital (computer) library! (the human library is a whole lot lower in megabytes!)

If I’m designing a space for you, I want you to be safe in the knowledge that I know what I’m taking about, and proposing those exciting current items that make your heart race, items that your neighbours and friends don’t know about yet, as well as tried and tested, vintage, retro and antique gems.

During my window shopping research excursions, (during the current lockdown, that means online, via magazines and checking the ‘new in’ pages of my favourite websites - as I’m not counting Aldi and Tesco today!) I capture images of all the products that send out those joy signals. I wouldn’t find it appropriate to suggest an item for your home that I wouldn’t be happy to advocate.

After a day, weeks, months, years (!) of ‘capturing images’, the inevitable happens. I end up with hundreds of photographs of extremely cool pieces of furniture, accessories, fabrics, wallpaper, anything interiors based and I may not be in a position to use them myself, or incorporate them into one of my designs for some time.

So, I thought of a delightful resolve for these dormant, sometimes, unused images that are clogging my iCloud - I’m starting a new feature called ‘Damn Cool’.

‘Damn Cool’ will be a features board where you can check out the extra cool pieces that really jump out at me, the ones that I feel the need that you MUST see, and if nothing else, to impart what’s in my brain and give the magazine features editor within me an excuse to play! Just think about when you come across those gorgeous magazine features where you love everything that’s appeared - this is what I’m doing; creating your go-to-interiors-wish-list to save you the work and time of researching. I’ll post them every few weeks on this blog and my Instagram.

First up is quite simply, ‘Damn Cool Stuff.’ I didn’t want the first feature of the Damn Cool series to be themed, or about a specific item, but rather an array of beautiful, glamorous, sexy bits of interior ’stuff’ for you to look at, which might inspire some ideas for your home.

I mean, tell me one thing on here that isn’t damn cool!

I mean, tell me one thing on here that isn’t damn cool!

As I’ve already mentioned, I’m only going to feature things that I LOVE, as I don’t see any point to making suggestions for you to view mere (in my opinion) mid/sub-standard products. I want these features to bring you joy and inspiration, so nothing dull to see here.

As always with my boards, you’ll find a full shopping list at the bottom of the blog post (keep scrolling) with easy clickable links that take you directly to that cool product.
